Overselling is a common term in the web hosting industry that is used to describe a situation where a web host has placed more users on a server than it could contain if all of the users used the maximum amount of resources allocated to them.
Generally it’s not as bad as it sounds, since most users only use a small fraction of the resources their web host provides them.
